MAHAL KITA

YOU HEARD IT FROM MY CUTE PHILIPPINE COMPANION! SISTER CENDREDA! MAHAL KITA! I LOVE YOU!!!!!

what an incredible week of learning. i have felt the power of the Lord work right through me! for the first time, i let out my tears, as i plead with my heavenly father to give me the charity in my heart that i need for this adorable daughter of mine ;) she is a two year convert. born in the Philippines, moved to Quebec with her mom for about 5 years, where she spent a lot of time with her neighbors who were from Mexico, (because her mom worked constantly) the Mexico family converted, and she took the discussions with them. her mom kicked her out, so she moved to Mexico with that family, and that is where she just came from. the only thing she really understands is Gods love for her. which is the most important of course! just like you said last week momma.. it doesn't matter if you grew up in the church, or you are 100 and you join the church, you are always learning. and that is what i have come to find out. we practice constantly together, things she can say in lessons. so that she can talk and we can both work in unity with the spirit. it is VERY VERY different from Sister Van.. we both would just talk and talk! but what an incredible growing experience for me. i love her more each day. and this lesson on Charity and Patience is one i needed. (you're all saying.. YEAH SHE DID GOOD FOR HER. THANKS HEAVENLY FATHER!) you little.... i know exactly what youre all thinking ;)

we traveled to the main land on wednesday morning. it was heart breaking leaving sister van. harder than leaving you all! that whole day i spent with the Chinese sisters in Richmond. it was the best experience ever. they taught this lady english.. and i got to use my ABC song from teaching Pre school to teach her the alphabet!!! Sister Lau's first language is chinese so when she talks in english she has an accent. she was teaching her how to say D. and she said like "Dig" and she would pretend to dig something. well in her cute accent, it sounds like "dik" so her companion (who has only been out 6 weeks) starts BUSTING OUT LAUGHING! and she was like... let me say it.. you don't say that word ok? hahahahh oh family, it was the best thing that has ever happened to me. in the moment, spending all day with two chinese sisters, i told myself "i think im getting a chinese or filipino sister" taaaa daaaaa !!!!!

MIRACLE! we were knocking doors yesterday, not having much success, we finally found someone that would listen to us! her name is Cary. she had heard about Joseph Smith. and i shared the whole first vision with her and we left a book of mormon and chapter with her that she is going to read by tomorrow! i don't even remember what i said, the spirit took over and cary loved us. she has definetely been prepared. we see miracles like this each day. i have been relying so much on the restoration, because that is what sets us a part from others, and it brings power in the message we share. i am so grateful for the restoration of the gospel!

i have been praying, pondering, not sleeping at night, thinking of different ways to find and teach. so this week we had interviews at the Old folks home here in Sidney. and the Community service center here. we got the "job" for volunteer work!!! so we are helping out with the community on the 25 with a fun pumpkin party thing!! and decorating for it too! it will be good for every one to see us out and about helping. just like Jesus Christ would :) i am so excited for that.

my PMG experience this week is simple. i have really been studying the attributes of christ. especially patience :) as i study, and understand how important patience is to our faith and hope, i am more willing to accept Gods will. at this time, when things are new, i am giving him my will, my heart, my mind, and all my strength, for him to work through me. easier said then done i can testify of that!!! but God has all the power, and i know if i am patient, i can bring thousands of souls to repentence just like Ammon does in Alma 26.

I am the Lords investigator. i check off a progress record for myself just like i do for our investigators. i have seen just in doing that, my heart wanting to change. willing to submit to all that God has commanded us to do. i want to be a follower of christ forever. i want others to see me, and see my Savior right beside me. i love this work. i am truly finding so much joy and happiness as i share this glorious gospel that has blessed my life! "he is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless; that there can be no more death." follow him, and you will never fail. that is my testimony to you, become as He is. do your best, and he'll do the rest :) MAHAL KA NI DIOS

xoxo, a wanna be filipino, sister ovard
