HELLO EVERYONE! i am so excited to tell you about my week! it was a roller coaster, but dang it was a good one. almost like screamin... ya know? ;)
wasn't GENERAL CONFERENCE amazing?! i left all the sessions with a burning desire to follow my Savior. could you even believe the sunday morning session where ALL the speakers spoke about the Prophet... and how crucial it is for us to follow him... and then President Monson, our PROPHET, gets up and testifies all about the Savior? and how we NEED to study his life? did that hit you as powerfully as it did for me? we need to follow our prophet and what he encourages us to do. and that is, come to know Jesus Christ. it was such a blessing for me from the beginning, all week i had been studying about prophets and why we have them, and really i gained such a strong testimony of them. that truly is the whole restoration of the gospel. and that is what i love to testify of to people i meet. that is what makes "our church" different from "other churches" and i am so GRATEFUL for a prophet who reminds me to follow my Savior.
Elder Klebingat's talk had my jaw open the whole time! i want to speak with power and boldness just like he did! WASN'T THAT INCREDIBLE? the 6 steps he mentioned have become my greatest goals. i left my journal home darnit, but i encourage you all to listen to that talk again! and do the 6 things he told us to do.
as for missionary work ;) ... we had an interesting week. One of our investigators doesn't want to learn anymore.. she felt like we were too secretive and weren't being ourselves. because of course, we are just 19 year old girls only talking about jesus Christ not boys haha but we explained to her who we are a little better, and told her we could tell her all about us if she wanted. but she really wasn't interested. she also saw that dang video of me from when i auditioned for Nauvoo on youtube and she was like.. "that's who you are.. you sing.. you dance.. and now you are someone else!" (she was clearly stalking me) it was so interesting. but that's okay. it taught us a lot, and how we need to not be afraid of who we are truly, and what our passions are, along with sharing our wonderful message about Jesus Christ!
we saw Kristine last night and had a good time pogo sticking.. hahah SHE IS SO FUNNY! i took some videos, you'll have to wait when my memory card is full and i send it home to see it! she is hilarious. she has a lot of family stress going on, so we're just being there for her helping out in any way that we can right now. she's such a sweetheart though and keeps me laughin!
our lesson with Jen (who has a partner) went so well! she is so nice. we focused on bringing her closer to Christ and it was awesome. she was so thankful for us, and for giving her the book of Mormon. we'll be seeing her again this week! and hopefully we can meet her partner, that will be fun :D
MIRACLE: we were walking on beacon and i felt like we needed to go down this other street, where NO one was... and i was like i don't know why i am feeling this way but i am so lets go with it.. so we did. and then decided to go up one street where we saw this man sitting on the side and so we started talking to him. had an awesome conversation about Heavenly Father and got his number to meet up again, said a prayer and before we left he said "so this is why i sat in this random spot eh" God put us on that random street, to take longer than we needed, to find his soul. he was so nice. we are meeting with him this week :)
FUNNY MOMENT: i had my 2 hug of the mission this week!!!! dang, i wish someone could film how awkward i am. some men just really like to hug and im like...... AH! it gave me a good laugh! and almost was like a daddy hug, and i needed that anyways ;)
we've been teaching a lot of our members the importance of family history so we've been doing that a couple times this week! heck, heavenly father is teaching me early before i am home and can do it, how important it is! and i can't tell you how excited i am to do it!!!!!!! (yes mom, i said it!)
also, we met with a recent convert this week and painted nails and had some girl time as we taught her!! IT WAS SO FUN! who said i can't paint my nails on my mission? ;)
next week is transfers!!! im excited to see what will happen! but as for now, im soaking every moment up! and now i need to go to Butchart Gardens.. the most beautiful place on earth so i'll catch ya on the flip side! the church is true and i love you!! follow the prophet, he is so true, follow the savior, and you will be new :) i should write poems eh? maybe next year! (inside joke with sis van.. i guess that's not funny to you oops) HAVE A GOOD WEEK! MUAH!
