I think i have been staring at the computer for at least 15 min. I HAVE NO WORDS! MY WEEK HAS BEEN MIRACULOUS! and so crazy.. are you all ready to just laugh? and cry? and just laugh a little more? good. then you're ready for this one.
so first, last monday we get a call from Amanda (who was getting baptized) and she had fallen and broken her arm. her humerus. it wasn't very humerous to me..... it was insane. the doctors in Canada are just horrible. they couldnt ever get her into surgery! sister van and i fasted and prayed like i have never fasted and prayed before. including the whole zone did a fast! it was Thursday and she still had not gotten surgery. (let me remind you her baptism was on friday) i was a mess. but at the same time i had so much Hope and Faith, that Heavenly Father could MAKE this happen!!! they called us on thursday letting us know they were FINALLY going into surgery. it was an answer to our prayers! but then.. they didn't get her in until that NIGHT! so it was then friday morning, we called to see how she was doing, and what her plans were, and she literally said "yeah i should be good for baptism i just need to get out of this dang hosptial ok?" you bet.. sister van and i were BAWLING!!!!!!!!! how incredible is her faith?? 20 screws and a plate later and she still wanted to get baptized. family, what a test of my faith as well. but as i prayed, fasted, and prayed even more, heavenly father told me "have more faith in Amanda" isn't that beautiful? not only have faith in god, but have faith in every one around you! so that is why her arm looks different in the picture, i was a doctor for a second and taped it all up so it wouldn't get wet :)
so there we had it, our friday morning was already amazing to hear such great news. but not only that, we went finding for a little bit before heading to Zone conference and it was like Jesus was walking with us.. (he always is) but.. PEOPLE WERE WALKING UP TO AS! we were in such a rush to our car to get back to the church but we literally couldn't go fast enough.. everyone just wanted to talk!!!!!! IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! finally, we went to the church and witnessed the most beautiful baptism. in the world. the speakers and the spirit, was the strongest i have ever felt. when she got up out of the water she said "do i have to do that again?" maybe she was on drugs.. but she was SO happy. i can't express my heart. it was so full of gratitude i wrote in my journal and made a video with sis Van about our miraculous day that we had. we both, had no words for our day.
but that's not all, Saturday we had the Barn dance with the ward! I FELT LIKE I WAS WITH OUR CRAZY FAM AGAIN! there were so many less active, non members, and the whole ward there it was SO fun!!! we just talked to everyone, and had such a blast. and yes, i fiddled. and everyone was dancing and i think i even threw some twirls in there with my violin... only in canada when no one knows you can you act like a crazy person... im glad Sister Muirhead sent you a video! man. that was the best activity ever!!! President Burt called me that night, he recieved a video of me from the Senior couple here in Sidney, and he said "SISTER OVARD YOU ARE ADORABLE I JUST LOVE YOU!!!! you fiddler you!" isn't he cute? I AM SO BLESSED!!!!!!!
funny moment: actaully, not really funny. you know how much i hate cats eh? we were driving home the other night and we almost HIT a cat! and i yelled "SHIIIIIIIIZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!" oh boy. i have never repented so hard. sorry dad. but we didn't hit the cat! don't worry Melinda ;)
we had some exciting rules change in the mission this week! we are now allowed to eat at memebers homes!! the rule before was only if you had an investigator with you.. but now we are allowed to be in there homes for an hour! THANK HEAVENS! it's already such a blessing!!
well family, i have no other words. these don't even do justice! i am GRATEFUL. SO grateful to be here in the Canada Vancouver mission, the best mission of all. what an incredible week to be a missionary. Doctrine and Covenants 100:1 "Verily thus saith the Lord unto you, my friends SIDNEY and Joseph, your families are well; they are in mine hands, and i will do with them as seemeth me good; for in me there is all power" you're all in Gods hands.. and i am so grateful for that knowledge. i love you more than anything on this earth! do your best. like i always say :) muah!
xoxo, sis ovard
