Family, first off! I LOVE YOU! how is everything going? it looks and sounds SO FUN! i am truly so happy for you. and i've felt so close to you this past week! because i have been weak in the knees, Heavenly Father has given me the strength and knowledge that families truly are FOREVER! and i had nothing to worry about :) man. i love you all. so. much. Austin- you have no idea how proud i am of you and how much i look up to you. DON'T ADJUST TO NORMAL LIFE. be a missionary forever! i still want you to be that awkward RM when i'm home ;)
First off- John Bytheway spoke to us on Wednesday and it was SO good i had a headache! SERIOUSLY FAM! i had a head ache. mind blown how true the church is. just some facts to blow you away and you can study them for yourselves because i don't have time to tell you about them... first, read Acts 1:3. the greek translation of tech marion to that is SIGNS, TOKENS, SURE TOKENS. hello? are you serious? head ache. so grateful for the temple! second, Thomas Jefferson declares a restoration. HELLO? THOMAS JEFFERSON? THE RESTORATION IS TRUE! Roger Williams- declares there was no authority on the earth at one point. OH, THE APOSTASY! family. i had the biggest head ache. so mind blown. so grateful. the church is so true. the bible and the book of mormon go HAND in HAND. it's proven!! if you don't know the church is true, lean on me. because i know it.
another thing i have realized clearly. The Lord gives us commandments, and wants us to live by obedience because he LOVES US! he wants to bless us. so much. and his way of saying I love you.. might be "Thou Shalt Not" so follow him! accept his teachings, love his teachings, and love Him. blessings will follow!! his gospel is criticle.
as for the work! HA! you almost forgot i was a missionary eh! It was a difficult week trying to contact our people. One of our sweet investigators had a rough week with family. so we didn't get to see her. but we shot her a text saturday night just reminding her about church at 10 and we would love to see her! little did we know she'd text back 10 min before the meeting and say "im on my way" MIRACLES!!!! THEY EXIST!!!!!! it was the perfect meeting for her. Converts spoke about the book of mormon and how much it means to them and how important it is. Then sister van Tienderen played "Where can i turn for peace" it turned out wonderful. and everyone said they felt the spirit so strong!
Amanda is still getting baptized September 13. she is progressing and is strengthening her relationship with Heavenly Father each day.its amazing to watch. This week we are teaching her about Fast. and we're going to challenge her to fast with us! for comfort. because she is so nervous about going under the water. so together, we are going to fast! and i know it will be amazing.
FUNNY MOMENT: we were tracting and we walked up to talk to this guy and we had a nice chat and he said we could come by anytime! his name was Rolland. i have the hardest time remembering peoples names. its just so difficult when you meet 500 of your brothers and sisters each day! so as we were walking we were trying to think of how i could remember him. and i looked at his car and i said thats so gangster. when i see it i'll think "they see me 'ROLLIN" they hatin" <--- thats a song.. Sister Van Tienderen had to stop me from singing but hey, i still remember his name and always will :) especially when hes rollin down the street ;)
i encourage all of you to anchor yourself in His work. Restart your lives according to his will! and be the best you can be. make each day the best day. I tell myself every morning "this is going to be the best day of my mission!" and even on days like saturday, when your perfect brother comes home, and your family is partying ;) and investigtors you had been teaching tell you they dont want to meet anymore... it still is the best day. because "I am what others want" we ALL are. and we all don't know how blessed we are! im truly humbled in my Savior. I love him. and i am more than happy on my mission. Valuable diamonds shine brighter against a dark background, thats why im here in Sidney.
I love you family! keep spending every second together! but never forget about me, the life of the party ;) you're all beautiful and you all shine! never forget how important you are. GOD BLESS! muaaaaahhh
