TOO BUFF 4 TAIWAIN

I don't really know what happened this week besides the fact that we went on exchanges and sister han said I was too buff for tawian. so I wont be going there.

MIRACLES ABOUND!! this week went way to fast. we've been meeting with Kurt. (RC Catherine's nephew) he's 23.. he doesn't talk. and when I say he doesn't talk I literally mean it. so imagine asking someone a hundred questions and them just staring at you. that's us in our lessons. EXCEPT, there is a Savior. so change occurs and this man TALKS to us. it's honestly one of the biggest miracles I've seen on my mission. from the 2 months we have been seeing him, he has been living proof of repentance to sister Ritchie and I. we taught him the Restoration this week and talked about Joseph Smith. we related his story to ourselves, what a confused and lost boy that just wanted to know the truth and wanted to feel the love of God that he knew was out there. he completely related and accepted a baptism date for the 30!!!!!!!!! there you found sister Ritchie and I crying. shaking his hand like he was the one we came here to find. later that day we called him, (that forces him to talk lol we're sneaky) and asked him what joseph smith saw and if he remembered, he said "God and Jesus" he is praying. and he is reading the book of Mormon. our faith is as high as Peters when he walked on the water that this man WILL speak after his baptism and he will continue to change!!! we love KURT!

funny story about Kurt: since we play basically 1000 questions to find out this mysterious mans spirit and see what he loves we told him he could ask us anything he wanted! he stares at us for a solid 5 min.. and says "do you pluck your eye brows?" yes, I peed my pants. and ran to the washroom. HE IS SO FUNNY.

I had the PRIVLEDGE of meeting Sister Kapp (recent YW president of the church) this week!!! she was a mission president here in 1982. she looked at us and couldn't stop saying how much this mission and place means to her! she is the most virtuous, pure, and loving woman I have ever met. sister Ritchie looked at her with big eyes and would probably jump off a cliff if she told us too. I learned so much from her spirit. she find the joy in her journey, that I have been longing to do my whole mission. it occurred to me that I have been trying with all that I am to do that. and because of her, I recognize that! we truly do find joy when we find benefits of the struggles. i know that is true. i see it EVERY DAY. a mission IS NOT easy!!!!! but man, it has benefited my life for eternity.

GIFTS- have you ever thought about your spiritual gifts? sister Ritchie and i have thought long and hard about this this week. i mean, my WORD! im 19 years old!!!! Heavenly Father sends young missionaries who don't know anything to preach to gospel, and he sends old folks to the temple who have lost their memory!!!!!! heavenly father finds joy in the journey. and you betcha, he trusts us. and i trust him. i was studying Personal Revelation this morning and the gift that i value so much, the holy ghost, taught me IMMENSELY! because the holy ghost came along after the resurrection of Christ, it is a gift. a gift we all have that we go day by day not thinking about it! "by the power of the holy ghost ye may know the truth of all things" moroni 10. do you understand that along with that promise comes, the gift of discernment? we discern our decisions EVERY day. and how wonderful it would be to KNOW the truth of all our concerns with the light in our hearts that come when we are worthy.

yes- i said worthy. are you worthy? are you reading your scriptures and being 1. teachable 2. remembering the mercy the lord has had on you. 3. asking your ETERNAL father in the name of Christ if these things are true?

that is the way to receiving personal revelation. i know it because I've seen it. i see the days im being teachable the spirit guiding me to those people that ARE prepared and want to receive the blessings of the restoration, i see when im not as teachable and don't liken the scriptures to myself that i am confused, as Joseph, and i am constantly trying to feel the spirit unnaturally. its within us. the joy comes- when we find joy in our journey and pay attention to the GIFT that came from our savior, Jesus Christ. i challenge each of you to study your gifts. ask heavenly father with a pen and paper at hand so the thoughts that come to your mind will lead you to knowing your abilities to BLESS YOUR LIFE FOREVER!

clearly, studies are my most favorite thing. i owe it all to Sister Ritchie because she has taught me so much about these gifts. i absolutely love her. and teaching with her IS a fruit of the spirit. we taught gospel principles yesterday about the church in these latter days. basically the message of joseph smith and what blessings came from him restoring each of these keys. we are blessed my friends, we are blessed.

"O daughters of Zion; strengthen thy priesthood" Moroni 10:31 in my own words... put the footnotes in and that is literally what is says. i am amazed. i am amazed at the priesthood and that is HAS been restored. i had personal revelation that i need to use it more. i need to strengthen my brothers and invite them to use that gift of prophecy. clearly, i have a grateful soul today.

the miracles of my mission will last a lifetime. i love the people here in Canada. they really do change my life every day. im so incredibly happy that i don't know who i was before! i LOVE this gospel. i know you'd feel the joy of sharing it if you study it yourself. blessings come, i promise you! i love you all! i pray for you all. i think of you all. and im grateful for you all. you don't know how much you mean to me. SHARE THE DANG GOSPEL. THATS WHY WE ARE HERE. kk ... done ranting ..never lose hope ..(just want to minister all the time so bye)

xoxo Sister Ovard
